Both a Master of something (defined as a leader vs a ruler) and a Maverick (defined as an individualist vs a dissident) require a common character trait and that is to have a caring nature. People that care have a more outward focus in their daily actions and this results in long term sustainable endeavors. This applies to any of life's activities not just Ag.
Not even coffee keeps me up at night but I am concerned about the growing disconnect between the production of food and fiber and the urban consumer. Ag leaders must educate the consumer about the realities of production in order to avoid the fear of big ag that is growing in the world.
Food production was the first occupation of humans and must be respected for its life sustaining roll when laws are made.
