Are you a Master or a Maverick?

Not sure if I believe in the title but certainly can say that my company and the people in it are Mavericks as of late. The only real advice I could give is to see opportunity and react to it. Surround yourself with great talent and you can be seen as a master for sure.

What would you say to policy makers if you had the chance?

Policy makers have many things that come and go but I would like them to take a long term view when in comes to Ag policy. My Grandfather worked in Washington for many years and he imparted some of this type of advice to me many years ago. Certain portions of agriculture have inherent advantages over others and over time pushes us in certain directions in our infrustructure. This can lead to problems over time.

How can producers better connect with consumers?

By being open with the general public about their practices and how they do business. The industry has contracted a great deal and there are very few problem/poor producers out there. Invite people to come and see what you do.
