Sara Truesdale Mooney is Show Director at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) currently managing AG CONNECT Expo. Mooney has been with AEM for 10 years, serving in a variety of trade show marketing and management positions with increasing responsibilities. These include Director of Marketing - Exhibitions, and Show Manager for three AEM-produced shows: World of Asphalt (which she helped launch in 2001) as well as the IFPE exposition and technical conference (North American fluid power focus) and the inaugural AGG1 Aggregates Forum and Expo. The IFPE 2008 exposition set all-time records for attendance and exhibitor participation and was named for the first time to the Top 200 list of the Tradeshow Week (TSW) publication and also received a Tradeshow Week Fastest 50 Award for show growth. World of Asphalt has been named to the TSW Fastest 50 list three times since its inception in 2001. In 2009, Mooney was promoted to Show Director responsible for AG CONNECT Expo 2010, AEM's new global agriculture event.
Mooney's background also covers international sales, marketing and promotion. Previously she was with Woodlore, a division of Allen-Edmonds Shoe Corporation, in a variety of export and marketing posts, including International Marketing Manager. She also served a stint as Assistant to the Press Officers in the Press Office at Oxford University in Oxford, England. Mooney is a member of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), and earned a Certification in Exhibitions Management (CEM) designation from IAEE.
Mooney completed a U.S. State Department internship at the U.S. Consulate in Strasbourg, France, and an international communications internship at EDF-GDF in Paris. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison and also attended the University of Bordeaux and University of Paris in France.
AEM is the North American-based international trade group for the off-road equipment manufacturing industry, and its members manufacture equipment, products and services used worldwide in the agriculture, construction, forestry, mining and utility sectors. AEM core services include technical and safety support, statistics and market information, public policy representation and trade shows.
